Highlights of Peru
Peru is an outdoor adventure paradise. Scott and I spent three weeks traveling to different areas of the country. From the Andes Mountains to the Amazon Rainforest, there is something for everyone. Scott and I made a highlight video of our experience in Peru. We hope you will check it out and be inspired to visit Peru yourself!
Key Moments We Don’t Want to Forget:
Arequipa
Arequipa is a hub of activity. We enjoyed learning the history of the area and surrounding volcanoes. There was a scenic bike tour, and we hiked the Colca Canyon. If you click on the links, you can read a more in depth article about our specific Peruvian experiences.
Cusco
It was another great spot to use as a base to explore the region. We hiked the Lares Valley Trek, almost saw Rainbow Mountain, hiked part of the Inca Trail, visited Machu Picchu and did a local chocolate workshop. There is so much more to do in the Cusco area, but these are only the things I chose to write about.
Amazon Basin
A visit to the Amazon Basin is such a memorable experience. The biodiversity of life on the river is really something to see. We wrote a post on our lodge and river experience.

Lima
The city of Lima is huge, the largest city in Peru. We only spent a couple of days there, in the Miraflores district. Scott and I took a gourmet food tour with the Lima Gourmet Company. It was a wonderful way to learn about the food and culture of Peru.
In Conclusion
Our trip to Peru has inspired us to do more intense trekking and exploring. We felt like we learned so much. It’s definitely a destination to add to your Bucket List.
