# SEVEN Must-Haves For Your Trip to Baguio PHILIPPINES

Where in the World?

Read about 7 must-have things when PACKING for Baguio

Baguio is the Summer Capital of the Philippines and one of the most-visited cities in the North for it’s cool climate and nice sceneries. Located 1,400 meters above sea level, it can get really wet in the rainy season. When I was younger, I have clear memories of the smell of pine trees whenever we traveled from the lowlands and upon entering the city limits.

When traveling to Baguio, here are things you should not forget:
Sweater. A light cardigan, a denim jacket, a leather jacket, or any sweatshirt jackets are a must-have when visiting the city. Since most parts of the country is hot and humid, this is your only chance to wear your nice sweater apparel so don’t forget to bring one with you. Even if the sun is out in the middle of the day, it could get chilly towards the afternoon, so keep it handy!

Camera. Of course, you should not forget your camera when strolling around the city. There is always, I mean always a big chance you’ll catch a foggy scene, especially in the months of December to February. There are many instagram-able spots in the city and you would want to document your strawberry-picking and horse-riding experience here.

Sneakers. A good pair of sneakers or walking shoes are necessary. There are tourists who wear slippers or slippery shoes or high-heeled shoes when strolling around. The city can get a bit hill-y and there are rough roads in some spots and you wouldn’t want to hurt your feet when you should be enjoying the sceneries.

Sunglasses and sunscreen. While it may be cold, it is super important to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. You’ll be walking around all day!

Scarf. From March to June, it can get a bit hot but still one may experience occasional windy days and rain showers. A scarf will save the day if you don’t want to bring your heavy jacket with you. A cute scarf that matches and complements your outfit adds personality to your sightseeing photos!

Eco bag. Plastics are now banned in the city and you wouldn’t want to spend 15 to 20 pesos on eco bags being sold in the market or shops around the city. Bring with you your own bag and you’ll enjoy your shopping and sightseeing without any hassle.

Manners. Baguio and Baguio residents are law-abiding citizens and can be very critical with outsiders or tourists who don’t obey local laws. In Baguio, there is a no smoking policy, you also cannot use your phone while walking and cannot utter swear words while in public!
